ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Katie!
I have always had a great love for dogs, even from a very young age.
My career working with them began in 2002 at grooming salons located in Manhattan and Long Island, New York.
Four years later, my husband and I purchased a grooming shop in New Jersey. And for the next two decades, we provided exceptional services to our upscale clientele.
Following a desire to start a mobile dog grooming salon and be closer to nature, a few years ago we moved to the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.
It was here that I started Luxury Pet Grooming. We currently serve clients in Highlands, Sapphire, Cashiers, Waynesville, and Franklin, North Carolina; and Rabun Gap and Clayton, Georgia, and are continually expanding into new areas based on word-of-mouth referrals and requests.
I have had ample opportunities to perfect my craft through both professional training and more than twenty years of experience. In addition to being a graduate of the New York School of Dog Grooming, I am also a certified pet massage therapist (Wolfe non-surgical technique), a Reiki healer, and a certified Ayurveda herbalist. I believe these credentials and skills make me unique among pet groomers anywhere in the world.
My husband Mitch and I live on a mini-farm that is spacious enough to accommodate us and our two children and a menagerie of pets, including three champion Portuguese Water Dogs, a French Bulldog, a Great Pyrenees, a Great Pyrenees Newfoundland mix, a barn cat, a parakeet, two pot belly pigs, three cows, and twelve chickens. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, growing food and herbs, healthy cooking, and hiking.
I am grateful and proud to have gained the trust and loyalty of countless clients over the years, and I look forward to the opportunity of providing you and your beloved pet with the utmost personal attention!
